Hi Oda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.My journey to where I am today has been a blend of professional experience, a deep passion for animal welfare, and a commitment to making a difference in my community.

New pet adoption center fosters and finds homes for thousands of unwanted pets

Pompano Beach – Emerging from what many consider the “worst of times,” Oda Sereix is seeing her vision come true: a no-kill animal adoption center that meets its contract with Broward County to care for 30 dogs and 40 cats a month.

Do Pets Transmit the Coronavirus?

Fears of pets transmitting the illness though have led to more pet surrenders, according to Good Karma Pet Rescue.

"This is not the time to be abandoning your animal," said Facilities Manager Oda Sereix.

The non-profit's work flow is all but shut down she says and resources are scarce.

"We are getting quite the squeeze especially with donations down and intake is up. We don't necessarily have the money to handle the large medical expenses we are known for paying," said Sereix.
